University of Karachi Admissions Open Admission 2026

The Applied Economics Research Centre at the University of Karachi is now accepting applications for its MS/MPhil and PhD programs for the 2026-27 morning session. For the PhD program, candidates must hold an MPhil degree in Economics from an HEC-recognized or reputable foreign university, with an application deadline of January 19, 2026, a test scheduled for February 1, and interviews on February 8. For the MS/MPhil program, applicants need 16 years of education in any discipline with at least a second division, and the application deadline is also January 19, with tests on January 26 and interviews on January 28. Admission requires a cash or pay order of Rs. 3,000 for MPhil and Rs. 5,000 for PhD submitted with the completed form to the Graduate Program Officer. Selected MPhil students may qualify for scholarships based on merit and need, and PhD coursework will be conducted on weekends.
