QUT Equity Scholarships Scheme 2026 – Up to $10,000 for Domestic Students Experiencing Financial Hardship
The QUT Equity Scholarships Scheme is supported by the QUT Learning Potential Fund, offering funding for scholarships and bursaries to more than 2,000 QUT students experiencing financial hardship each year. Domestic students can apply for equity scholarships and bursaries valued from $1,800 up to $10,000.

Scholarships and Bursaries Available

Note: Domestic students can only receive one scholarship or bursary under the scheme in any given academic year. If you are eligible for two or more, you will be awarded the higher‑valued award.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, you must be a domestic student (Australian citizen, permanent resident, or New Zealand citizen) who is either a current or future QUT student undertaking an undergraduate, postgraduate, or research qualification, or a QUT College student studying a diploma program or the University Preparation Program (UPP).
You must also be from a low‑income household and experiencing financial hardship. Personal hardship will also be taken into consideration, including medical conditions or disability, regional/remote location, being a parent or carer, caring for dependents over 18, having children with disability, being a refugee or asylum seeker, or experiencing difficult or disrupted family or personal circumstances.
The following students are not eligible: single‑unit study students, cross‑institutional students, international students, and students in foundation programs or English language courses.
Assessment Criteria
Your application will be assessed and scored against criteria such as income, assets and liabilities, expenditure, and personal hardship. The outcome of your application typically takes about one month after you have submitted all necessary supporting documentation.
Required Documentation
You will need to provide documents that demonstrate your financial situation and any personal hardship. Examples include income statements, Centrelink statements, rent receipts, utility bills, medical certificates, or evidence of caring responsibilities.
How to Apply – Step by Step
Step 1: Visit the QUT Equity Scholarships Scheme webpage during the application period (8 June – 27 July 2026).
Step 2: Complete the online application form. You only need to submit one application to be considered for all scholarships and bursaries under the scheme.
Step 3: Upload all required supporting documentation (income evidence, proof of hardship, etc.).
Step 4: Submit your application before the closing date.
Step 5: Applications are assessed after the deadline. If further information is requested, respond promptly to avoid delays.
Step 6: Successful applicants will be notified, and payments are made after the Semester 1 and Semester 2 census dates. To receive payment, you must be enrolled in at least one QUT unit in your award course after the census date and at the time payment is processed.
