The Stamps Scholarship is a comprehensive award covering all costs of attendance. It includes full tuition and fees, on-campus housing, a meal plan, University health insurance, textbooks, and a laptop allowance.

A key feature is access to a $12,000 enrichment fund that can be used for study abroad, undergraduate research, unpaid internships, and other educational pursuits. Scholars also join a global community of over 1,370 current and former Scholars, with access to networking and professional development opportunities.

Eligibility and Application

The scholarship is awarded to high school seniors based on a thorough evaluation of their application and supporting documents. Applicants are automatically considered when they apply for early admission to UM by submitting all first-year admission requirements by the November 1 deadline.

Selection Process

Selection is based on a holistic evaluation of the admission application and supporting documents. Semi-finalist candidates are required to interview via Zoom with the Stamps Scholarship Selection Committee in January.

Finalists are notified at the time of admission in late January and subsequently interviewed by the Stamps Family Charitable Foundation before final announcements are made by early March.

Terms and Conditions

A Stamps Scholar must complete a full-time undergraduate program of study, taking at least 12 credit hours each semester for a minimum of 24 credit hours per academic year. A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 for the academic year must be maintained at the University of Miami, with the initial calculation at the end of the second semester of attendance.

The award is subject to revision pending receipt of any grant, scholarship, or prepaid tuition and/or housing aid not anticipated at the time the award is made.
