History of Forman Christian College (FCC)

Forman Christian College was founded in 1864 by Dr. Charles W. Forman, a Presbyterian missionary from the United States. Initially known as the Lahore Mission College, it was renamed in 1894 in honor of its founder. The college was nationalized in 1972 and later regained its chartered university status in 2004.
