Fellowship Programs – GEM 2027

GEM offers fellowships at two graduate levels :

◆ MS Engineering and Science Fellowship Program:
◉ Designed for students pursuing a Master's degree in engineering or science.

Eligibility Criteria for GEM Fellowship

◉ Must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident at the time of application .
◉ Must be a senior, Master's student, or graduate of an accredited engineering or applied science program .
◉ Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8/4.0 for MS applicants .
◉ Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 for PhD applicants .
◉ Must apply directly to a minimum of three GEM Member Universities' STEM graduate departments .
◉ Must be admitted to a GEM Member University graduate program with confirmed department funding support before the fellowship is awarded.
◉ Must contractually agree to complete summer internship(s) with a GEM Employer Member.

Scholarship Benefits – GEM Fellowship

◆ Employer Fellows:
★ Minimum $16,000 total stipend over the entire Master's program .
★ Up to two paid summer internships with a GEM Employer Member .
★ Full tuition and fees provided by a GEM University Member .
★ $4,000 living stipend per full-time semester (up to 4 semesters) .

◆ PhD Employer Fellows:
★ Minimum $16,000 stipend per year .
★ Full tuition and fees up to the fifth year of the PhD program .
★ At least one paid summer internship with a GEM Employer Member 
★ Additional stipend support to match departmental funding levels for other PhD students 

◆ University and Associate Fellows:
★ Full tuition and fees provided by the GEM Member University .
★ At least $8,000 stipend per year for Master's students .
★ At least $16,000 stipend per year for PhD students .
★ (University/Associate Fellows are nominated by the university, not selected by applicants) .
