Kevin Child Scholarship 2026 – $1,000 for Students with Hemophilia A or B

The Kevin Child Scholarship is awarded annually in memory of Kevin Child, a young man born with hemophilia in the late 1960s who faced immense challenges from the start. Despite his struggles, Kevin was determined to earn his college degree. Tragically, he passed away from AIDS‑related complications in 1989, just days before his graduation.

In honor of his legacy, the Child family established this scholarship to assist students with hemophilia who are striving to acquire a higher education. One scholarship of $1,000 is awarded each year.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the Kevin Child Scholarship, you must meet both of the following requirements:

• Be diagnosed with hemophilia A or hemophilia B.

• Be a high school senior with aspirations of attending an institute of higher education (college, university, or vocational‑technical school), or a college student already pursuing a post‑secondary education.
