Introduction

The Ganj Shakar University (GSU) is a public sector university located in Pakpattan, Punjab, Pakistan. It was established under The Ganj Shakar University, Pakpattan Act, 2025. The university is inspired by the legacy of the Sufi saint Hazrat Baba Farid-ud-Din Ganj Shakar, whose shrine is located in Pakpattan.

History

The university was established through an act of the Punjab provincial legislature in 2025. The project was announced as "Baba Farid University" in 2020 by the then Chief Minister of Punjab. The institution was later renamed and formally established as The Ganj Shakar University in 2025.

The university is located at 9 km, Sahiwal Road, Pakpattan, Punjab, Pakistan.
