Introduction

The University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) Toba Tek Singh Campus is a public sector constituent college and sub-campus of UAF, located in Toba Tek Singh, Punjab, Pakistan. It was established with the vision of providing higher education and research opportunities to the local population at their doorstep.

History

The UAF Sub Campus Toba Tek Singh was established on 5th June 2005 under the vision of the then Governor/Chancellor that universities should develop programs for the benefit of local masses. District Toba Tek Singh is the second largest hub of poultry in Pakistan after Karachi, and it was felt that appropriate knowledge and skills about poultry education must be disseminated to the farmers in addition to producing qualified professionals in Poultry Science. The sub-campus has been recognized as a constituent college of UAF.

Campus and Facilities

The campus is located near the Railway Station in Toba Tek Singh city. A new campus is also being developed at 8 Km Khekha Banglow Road, Toba Tek Singh.

The infrastructure includes:

• Double story academic block

• Boys and girls hostels

• Foreign faculty hostel

• Motor pool, cafeteria, library and infirmary

• Video Conferencing facility and PERN internet connectivity

• Strengthened laboratories and computing facilities

Additional facilities under development include:

• Feed manufacturing unit

• Environment controlled house

• Hatchery

• Bird Clinic

The campus also houses a Junior Laboratory School which completed its first successful year with approximately 300 students.

The sub-campus has already produced many poultry graduates who are working for the uplift of the sector, and all passed-out poultry sciences students have found jobs.
