Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following requirements for admission to Ph.D. programs:

• The applicant must have completed an eighteen-year MS / M.Sc. / M.Phil. or equivalent degree in the relevant discipline.

• Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in the semester system, or 60% marks in the annual system.

• For a five-year undergraduate degree in Architecture, the requirement will be nineteen years of education.

• In case the applicant's transcript shows percentage as well as CGPA, CGPA will be considered for eligibility.

• CGPA on a scale other than 4.00 will be translated accordingly.

• A test (80% relevant subject and 20% general) will be conducted for all disciplines.

• Candidates must score at least 60% raw score in the test to be eligible for an interview.

• Admission will be offered on merit to candidates scoring at least 70% merit aggregate.

Scholarships

UET Lahore offers generous financial assistance and research support scholarships for Ph.D. students:

• Financial Assistance / Research Support Scholarship: Semester recurring fees shall not be charged from selected full-time Ph.D. students with teaching potential. A scholarship of Rs. 50,000/- per month may be offered with the approval of the Vice-Chancellor. In lieu of the fee waiver and scholarship, such students shall be required to work for at least twenty (20) contact hours per week in the department/university. This scholarship may be awarded for a maximum period of three (03) years subject to maintaining a GPA of 3.3 on the scale of 4.0.

• Research Support Scholarship: 50% reduction in admission charges and a 30% tuition fee waiver will be given to all candidates admitted to Ph.D. programs.

• Discount is available in tuition fee for all graduates admitted to Ph.D. programs.

• For students admitted in CEWRE, tuition waiver up to 75% for Ph.D., 40% for UET alumni and 10% Gender Support is available (T&C applies).

How to Apply (Step by Step)

1. Visit the UET admission portal at admission.uet.edu.pk to view the prospectus and program details.

2. Obtain the challan of Rs. 3,100/- from the admission portal.

3. Pay the challan through HBL online banking if you are a HBL account holder, or through HBL KONNECT if you are not. Alternatively, pay the challan by visiting a UBL Branch anywhere in Pakistan, through the UBL Mobile app if you are a UBL account holder, or through UBL Omni if you are not.

4. Use the paid challan (valid until August 13, 2026) to log in to the admission portal and complete your online application.

5. Scan and upload relevant documents along with your personal and academic information.

6. Submit the application before the deadline. Applications sent via post/courier or submitted by hand will not be entertained.

7. Download the admit card from the respective department and appear for the test from August 17–19, 2026.

8. If you score at least 60% raw score in the test, appear for the interview from August 20–22, 2026.

9. Check the merit list on August 22, 2026 (Evening) for admission offers.
