Introduction
University of Swat is a public-sector university located in the Swat Valley, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. It was established in 2010 to provide quality higher education to the people of the Swat Valley and beyond. The university is recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and is dedicated to imparting relevant education with a focus on research and innovation.

History
The establishment of the University of Swat was announced on May 29, 2010, by the then Prime Minister of Pakistan during his visit to the Swat Valley. The university came into formal existence in July 2010 by the order of the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with the prior approval of the President of Pakistan. Its first Vice Chancellor, Dr. Muhammad Farooq Khan (Shaheed), was appointed in August 2010.

Academic Programs
The university offers a diverse range of programs across six faculties, including language and literature, physical and numerical sciences, management and social sciences, religious and legal studies, chemical sciences, and life sciences. The university currently offers 35 degree programs at undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels.
