Overview of Bayreuth Humboldt Centre Grants

The University of Bayreuth Centre of International Excellence "Alexander von Humboldt" (Bayreuth Humboldt Centre) promotes excellent research and advances the internationalisation of research and networking with the best universities worldwide.

The Centre offers two distinct grant programmes for international researchers: Starter Grants for longer-term research projects and Short Term Grants for shorter research visits . Both programmes are open to all disciplines and support academic exchange across existing boundaries between disciplines, cultures, and career stages .

Members of the Cluster of Excellence cannot act as host if the research focus is on African Studies . This is due to regulations of the German Research Foundation stipulating that the Centre cannot provide funding to enhance resources of the university's Cluster of Excellence.
