Eligibility Criteria for CWAJ Graduate Scholarship

◉ Identify as a woman.
◉ Japanese national or special permanent resident of Japan .
◉ Residing in Japan from application until end of April 2027.
◉ Graduated from a Japanese university (4-year course) by July 31, 2027.
◉ Accepted by March 31, 2027 into an English-taught graduate program abroad.
◉ Must be enrolled abroad for the 2027-2028 academic year.
◉ Online study from Japan is not accepted .

◆ English Proficiency Requirements:
◉ TOEFL score (test taken after October 1, 2024).
◉ Natural sciences/math/medicine/engineering: TOEFL 570 (IBT 88) or IELTS 6.5.
◉ Other fields: TOEFL 600 (IBT 98) or IELTS 7.0.
◉ TOEFL/IELTS waived if degree was in an English-taught program at a Japanese university.

◆ Ineligible Applicants:
◉ Currently studying or working abroad.
◉ Studied abroad at university level for more than 2 academic years.
◉ Hold a degree from an overseas university.
◉ Planning a double/dual degree program between Japanese and overseas universities.
