History of Emerson University Multan

The institution was established on April 13, 1920 as Government College Multan. In 1933, it was renamed Government Emerson College, Multan, in honor of Sir Herbert William Emerson, the then Governor of Punjab. The college was reconstituted as Emerson University, Multan in 2021 and granted autonomous degree-awarding status through the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab Act VIII of 2021.
