The institute was established in September 1999 under the vision of its founder Khadim Ali Shah Bukhari, who aspired to build an institution synonymous with international quality education. It was the first private sector higher education institute in Pakistan registered as a corporate body. The institute was granted its charter by the Government of Sindh through Ordinance No. XXII of 2001. The institute is named after its founder, and the acronym KASB stands for Khadim Ali Shah Bukhari. KASBIT has grown into one of the most respected educational institutions in Pakistan, contributing to quality education in the field of Management Science.
