King Edward Medical University (KEMU) in Lahore has announced Spring admissions 2026 for its two-year postgraduate Diploma Programs for the 2026-2028 academic session. The university offers nine specializations, including Diploma in Anesthesiology, ENT, Medical Jurisprudence, Dermatology, Family Medicine, Public Health, Community Child Health, Clinical Pathology, and Paediatric Surgery. Eligibility is restricted to medical professionals holding an MBBS degree or equivalent qualification recognized by the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PM&DC). Applicants must also have a valid PM&DC registration and a certificate confirming completion of a one-year house job from a recognized institution. The admission process is contingent upon successfully clearing a competitive entry examination. This exam is worth 150 marks, divided into a 120-mark written paper of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and a 30-mark interview. The written paper covers Basic Sciences (Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Pharmacology) as well as General Medicine and General Surgery. Candidates must score at least 50% in both the written component and the overall aggregate to pass. Notably, holders of advanced qualifications like FCPS, MD/MS, or equivalent are exempt from the written paper but must still appear for the interview. The application procedure requires a non-refundable fee of Rs. 3000/-. Completed application forms, along with attested copies of all required academic and professional documents, must be submitted in person or by post to the Office of the Assistant Registrar (Academic) by January 26, 2026. The written entrance examination is scheduled for February 17, 2026, with results declared on February 24, 2026. Prospective candidates are advised that admission is highly competitive, with training slots offered only to the top three candidates in each specialty based on available seats.
