History

The establishment of The University of Mirpurkhas was a long-awaited milestone for the people of Mirpurkhas division. The University of Mirpurkhas Bill (PAS/LEGIS-B-08/2021) was passed by the Provincial Assembly of Sindh on July 24, 2023, and received the assent of the Governor of Sindh on August 20, 2023, officially recognizing it as an independent institution through Act No. XXXVI of 2023. The university began operations by consolidating several existing educational entities, with the Governor of Sindh serving as Chancellor and Professor Dr. Rafiq Ahmed Memon appointed as the founding Vice Chancellor.
