History of Information Technology University (ITU)

ITU was established in 2012 under the ITU Punjab Act 2012. It was inaugurated by then Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif at Arfa Karim Software Technology Park. The university was founded and initially headed by Umar Saif, a Cambridge PhD, and began its journey with the Department of Computer Sciences.

ITU operates from two campuses. The City Campus is located in the high-rise Arfa Software Technology Park. The main campus on Barki Road covers 183 acres and is under construction but partially operational.
