Introduction
Sheikh Zayed Islamic Centre (SZIC) is a constituent part of the University of Peshawar, located in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Established in 1983, it was funded by the UAE government and is one of three identical Islamic Centres in Pakistan, alongside those in Karachi and Lahore.
History
The centre was established in 1983 with support from His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al-Nahyan, the late President of the UAE. It was transferred to the University of Peshawar in 1985 and started functioning in 1988. The centre was created to combine traditional Islamic education with modern disciplines like computer science and law.
Location and Campus
Located on the main campus of the University of Peshawar, the centre features a white-marbled domed structure with lush green lawns. It includes state-of-the-art labs, a spacious library, a Masjid, a playground, and hostel facilities.

SZIC offers programs that blend Islamic studies with modern disciplines:

SZIC is a constituent part of the University of Peshawar, a recognized HEC university. Its research journal 'Al-Idah' is a voice of moderation in the country.
