The foundation of Akhtar Saeed University lies in the legacy of the Akhtar Saeed Trust, which was established in 1985 with the founding of a 35-bedded hospital in Allama Iqbal Town, Lahore. In 1993, the board of directors decided to establish medical, nursing, dental, and pharmacy colleges to expand healthcare education. This vision led to the creation of Akhtar Saeed Medical College in 2008 and the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2009. The proposed Akhtar Saeed University represents the culmination of this educational journey, aiming to consolidate these institutions into a full-fledged university. The Akhtar Saeed University Bill 2022 was introduced in the Punjab Assembly to formalize this transition.
